Logistics Manager

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee logistics processes to ensure efficiency and reliability;
• Contribute to the Operations strategy, develop effective policies, and implement annual plans and professional standards for your area of responsibility;
• Serve as a member of the Operations Leadership Team, shaping the mission, vision, strategy, priorities, and objectives for Operations;
• Build and lead your department/team, focusing on people development and professional discipline;
• Ensure cost-effective and efficient logistics operations while maintaining high standards of quality and safety;
• Oversee long-term planning for yard layout, quay, and equipment, in coordination with relevant internal and external stakeholders;
• Manage logistics budgets for projects and contractors;
• Monitor administration and finances related to scrap;
• Supervise productivity rates and standards, adjusting schedules and implementing quality control programs as needed;
• Develop and implement effective strategies for managing incoming materials and material flows;
• Establish and monitor KPIs and quality control programs for the logistics department;
• Ensure strict adherence to health and safety guidelines across all logistics operations.

• A completed HBO or WO education in Logistics Management, (Technical) Business Administration or Mechanical Engineering;
• At least 5 years of experience in a managerial logistics role, preferably in a production environment;
• Proven experience in optimizing internal logistics processes and project management;
• Knowledge of modern logistics technologies and material control systems is an advantage.

• Excellent planning and organizational abilities;
• Strong leadership qualities and the ability to motivate and develop a team;
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal;
• Problem-solving mindset with a hands-on approach in a dynamic production environment;
• Result-oriented and capable of performing under pressure;
• Flexible and innovative in addressing logistical challenges within production;
• Experience in budget management and cost optimization.

You will work at the yard of Heerema Vlissingen in Nieuwdorp.
