Changhua Project
In July 2019, Jan De Nul awarded Heerema Marine Contractors the contract for the installation of the foundations for the Taiwan Power Company Offshore Windfarm Phase 1 Project – Demonstration project. For Heerema, the scope on this project was the installation of the 84 piles and 21 jackets for the Changhua Offshore Windfarm Phase 1.
The Offshore Wind Farm of Taiwan Power Company near Changhua is located along the West Coast of Taiwan. The water depth at the jacket installation locations is 18 to 28 meters.
Aside from all installation (engineering) of piles and jackets, the scope for the project also included the design and fabrication of the pin pile installation template, jacket lifting tool, jacket pile grippers and followers, the provision of noise mitigation services (single bubble screen), the removal of soil plug and pile cleaning inside the pin piles before jacket installation and grouting services including provision of the materials for grouting the jackets to the pin piles.
