Sleipnir

Sleipnir might look red, but it's actually green! With the ability to run on emission-reducing LNG and various other sustainability measures the vessel is the world's most sustainable semi-submersible crane vessel (SSCV).

The vessel is equipped with two cranes of 10,000 metric tonnes lifting capacity each. As well as having a reinforced deck area of 220 meters in length and 102 meters in width.

The vessel can install and remove jackets, topsides, and modules. As well as the installation of foundations, moorings, and structures in deep water.

What makes Sleipnir sustainable?

The vessel can run on LNG, which is an emission-reducing fuel. In addition, Sleipnir is outfitted with LED-lighting, has a heat/cold energy recovery system, is equipped with variable frequency drives, state-of-the-art silicon-based anti-fouling paint, and connects to our renewable Shore Power connection when moored in the Port of Rotterdam.

Since Sleipnir hit the seas in 2019, the vessel has been making waves by setting multiple new lifting records:

Record-breaking highlights

In October 2022, Sleipnir broke the world-lifting record with the Tyra II topside.
In September 2019, Sleipnir broke the world-lifting record with the Leviathan topside 15,300 metric ton lift.
In July 2020, the vessel turned its attention to jackets with the largest single lift jacket removal for client Vår Energi's 8,100 metric ton Jotun-B jacket.
Weeks later in August 2020, Sleipnir broke its own record removing Shell’s 10,100 metric tons Brent Alpha jacket with the same removal method.
To balance the sheet with removals and installations Sleipnir installed the 12,050 metric ton Johan Sverdrup P2 jacket. The heaviest to be installed by lifting, as jackets this large previously required a launch installation.
